Mansfield U15's V Dronfield

The weather was great for rugby above ground, under foot it was very muddy and slippery.
The Mansfield boys were up for this game after an extended No game's over the last months except for the Ashfield game.
Dronfield started sending along kick down to our 22m. Mansfield gathered the ball well.
As Dronfield was on them quickly, there was no panic in the Mansfield boys as they moved the ball well, running the ball out up to the halfway line were Dronfield turned the ball over and came back at Mansfield the boy's stood there ground and turned them over.
As Mansfield put along kick up field and gave chase. It was a back and fourth game neither side giving and defending well and as the end of the half was closing in Dronfield was awarded a penalty on our 22, they choose to run the ball as they handed the ball off to there biggest player and he crashed through with Mansfield player's hanging off him for a Try and Conversion.
Dronfield 7 - Mansfield 0.
Mansfield restart with a great kick and chase hitting Dronfield hard turning the ball over pushing and pressing hard working as a team pushing Dronfield back then just before half-time.
Will Heyes goes over for the Try. No conversion from a difficult angle.
Whistle goes half-time.
Dronfield 7 - 5 Mansfield.

The second half got on the way with a good kick and chase and the game continued as the first half both teams battling hard and a lot of the play was in around the middle of the field with the odd foray into one another's 22. Then Dronfield got some luck and broke down the right wing which got them through and went over for the Try this time No conversion.
Dronfield 12 - 5 Mansfield
Mansfield restart with another good kick and chase and had Dronfield on the back foot as the Mansfield boys came on hard and kept pushing forward lost the ball a few times but won it back and with all the pressure Jake Payne went over with a battling Mansfield pack Try. No conversion.
Dronfield 12 - 10 Mansfield
Dronfield restart going for along restart kick which was taken well and Mansfield came on again strong both sides attacking and defending well both teams fighting hard for the ball with some great runs from the Mansfield boys making Dronfield have to work hard. Then a little mistake and Dronfield go over for a Try. No conversion with about 8 minutes to go.
Dronfield 17 - 10 Mansfield
Mansfield restart with great intent forcing Dronfield to defend as the boys were attacking hard moving the ball around keeping it moving until they were stopped but Dronfield offside so Mansfield reset and go again the forwards drawing Dronfield in then a smart pass out to the left caught Dronfield and Harry Brough goes over for the Try and with a great kick also got the Conversion. With a minute of play left.

Dronfield restart with a short kick Mansfield take it but in a ruck lose the ball turn over and Dronfield kick long its going down to the Try line with them chasing so our fullback kicks it out the back but it comes back for a 5m scrum Mansfield force the ball dead and the whistle finally goes. A fitting scoreline to the game.A draw

A great game boys and such a difference over the Ashfield game.
Lots of positives in the game the pack was dominant in the scrum time after time you drove there pack backwards. You were competitive in the lineouts and some great picking and driving. At times boys a little slow to the breakdown that's when you got turned over.
But all being said you played as a team supporting each other defending and attacking with great intent, strength and character keep it going boys more of this.
