Long Eaton (Falcons) V Mansfield.

Mansfield started the game with a good kick and chase, keeping the Long Eaton players tied in.
Mansfield played hard keeping on top of the attack. Putting good tackles in on the Long Eaton boys. Mansfield turned the ball over and pressed forward forcing Long Eaton back, then in contact the ball was lost forward.
Scrum put in Long Eaton. Mansfields scrum was very strong and worked really well which it would continue to be through out this game. However even with the blue and whites pushing them back Long Eaton still got the ball and moving it quickly to the right wing they broke through and Try and Conversion.

Mansfield kick at the restart was good with a good chase again the blue and whites fought hard for the ball but were going backwards as Harry Brough got his hands on the ball Sean Wallis joined the line at the right time from fullback then danced his way through three tackles with a well timed pass back inside to Harry Brough the pair had pulled most of Long Eaton into them as he off loaded to Josh Dooley who then had a clear run for touch. The restart taken Mansfield took the ball well and ran it stright back at them. You could see the confidence growing with each play. The lineouts were working well as were our scrums as they would continue to do through out the game.
Isaac Harris was doing a great job as stand in scrumhalf. The play was back and forth both teams trying to find a gap.
Then from a ruck Will Heyes breaks away and breaks through the tackle for a Try. No conversion.
Score 12 - 7 to Mansfield.
Long Eaton takes the restart and the games continues with nither team giving much ground.
Until Long Eaton put a long high kick in which then turned into a pure foot race between Sean Wallis our fullback and two of their wingers. Sean Wallis makes it first but could not gather it up. Long Eaton pick it up and go for the Try but with a great recovery by the fullback he put in a perfect hard tackle causing the ball carrier to knock on.
Scrum to Mansfield who secure ball. A great long kick by Harry Brough move Mansfield back up to Long Eaton's 22. Lineout to Long Eaton. Which Mansfield win and push hard into their 22 in the end however the ball goes dead. Whistle goes half time.
Score 12 - 7 to Mansfield.

Second Half

Long Eaton restart Mansfield take it well and attack Long Eaton's line with strengh and confidence Mansfield push deeper into their 22. Then the whistle went and the call was hands in the ruck. The ball hand over to Long Eaton they moved the ball downfield.
Mansfield putting in a strong defence of their line. Long Eaton kept coming and the boys kept standing them up.
Then Mansfield came away with the ball but to the sound of the whistle.
Penalty to Long Eaton they tried to run it but just hit a wall of blue and white. The whistle goes again for off side penalty to Long Eaton they take quickly and catch Mansfield out. Try Long Eaton. No conversion.

Mansfield restart and just get on with the job in hand getting on the offensive and hit the Long Eaton boys hard forcing them back, picking and driving the forwards working hard as a unit. Then a gap Will Heyes can see it and through he goes Try. No conversion
Score 17 - 12 Mansfield.
The game restarts and again Mansfield take the ball well and push forward hard the boys want this. Keeping the ball moving as a ruck forms. Whistle goes scrum Mansfield ball.
Again the scrum is good the ball comes out well and Mansfield move the ball again a ruck forms Owen Stevenson brings the ball out off loading to Will Heyes. Try. No conversion.
Score 22 - 12 Mansfield.
Long Eaton restart,Mansfield take the ball just outside their 22 the take is good but then something seems to go wrong and Mansfield get turned over. The backs work well holding them up as forwards come in to take over. Then then whistle goes for entering at the side. Long Eaton run the ball and are held and pushed back. Whistle goes again Mansfield offside at the penalty.ok.
Long Eaton take a quick ball and go over for a Try and conversion.
Score 22 - 19 Mansfield.
The kick and chase is good by Mansfield and kept Long Eaton back near their 22. Mansfield were tackling hard keep the pressure on Long Eaton then Mansfield get a turnover and start picking and driving again the forwards gain ground on each move then Jack Pettinger breaks out with the ball and off loads to Will Heyes who goes over for a Try. Harry Brough adds the conversion.
Score 29 - 19 Mansfield.
Long Eaton restart again the ball is taken in well by Mansfield but again their comes some ball handling mistakes and they get turned over again and Long Eaton break through Try. No conversion.
Score 29 - 24 Mansfield.
Mansfield restart with a great kick and chase working hard at the breakdown and with the hardwork comes reward as they turnover Long Eaton the forwards start picking and driving then the ball comes out to the backs then what looked like nothing Harry Brough broke through and went over for a Try. And conversion by himself.

Score 36 - 24 Mansfield.
Long Eaton restart again the ball is taken in well by Mansfield no mistakes this time and they push forward making ground. But the ball goes dead and the whistle goes for a waterbreak with 7 mins to go.
Game restarted after 10 mins and Long Eaton got the better start pushing out to the right wing the backs did a fantastic job bringing them down Owen Stevenson,Sean Wallis,Harry Brough and Sam Campbel a new player to the side were throwing their bodys on the line trying to turn them over but Long Eaton got the ball out and created a mismatch and went over for a Try. No conversion
Score 36 - 29 Mansfield
Mansfield restart, Long Eaton take the ball but our backs and forwards are one them quickly and got reward with a turnover and started to move forward. Isaac Harris cleared a player out legally and the Long Eaton player did not like it and went for him Isaac Harris walked away but he would not let it go. Then all of a sudden it was handbags out as Will Heyes broke away on the open side but the whistle was blown. The teams were told to move away as the ref talked to both coaches. The out come was a red card to one of Long Eaton's players for punching Finn Hewitt in the face.
Penalty to Mansfield they ran the ball in a set move not letting the incident bother them going into contact strong and hard. Mansfield form a ruck the ball comes out in the hands of Will Heyes who goes over for his 5th Try. Conversion to Harry Brough.

Long Eaton restart Mansfield take well and no mistakes now they look strong and full of confidence running it back at Long Eaton. Forcing Long Eaton back well into their half in the end the ball goes dead. Final whistle goes.
