Stand back! The U15's have put a line in the turf and it looks like they ain't going to let anyone else over it. Andy's Barmy Army are looking good!!

Captain Blair Holland.

First game of the season played in dry conditions. All the players turned up in fine spirits roaring to go.
Keyworth games previously have been tight in past years Mansfield won 1 lost 1 and both games final results being within 3 points.

At the toss Mansfield were to play slightly uphill and into the wind.

Within 3 minutes Blair Holland who has moved from the forwards to his new position of Scrum half made a snaking run and touched down in the left corner. As previously said into the wind Jake Brough missed conversion.

17 minutes George Holloway passed 2 tacklers to go over the line between the posts; Regan Hubbard stepped up and scored the conversion.

The opposition kicked off to restart the game and straight into the waiting arms of George Holloway who again with blistering pace crossed the line at 19 minutes, Jake Brough had a successful conversion.

At 24 minutes James Sims rucks over a spilled ball and Sam Potts showed that the summer break hasn’t slowed him down scoring a try which again Jake Brough kicked over for successful conversion.

At 35 minutes George Holloway rips the ball from an opponent and again passing 2 players puts the ball into the corner of the try line. At such an acute angle and into the wind Jake Brough just drops the conversion short.

42 minutes into the second half and from a strong scrum Sam Potts number 8 takes the ball runs 20 metres before offloading to Blair Holland who leaps Chris Ashton style over the line for a try which Jake Brough converts.

53 minutes again all the coaching seems to be paying off as Tom Swayne strongly rucks over a loose ball giving Blair Holland time to collect and charge over for his hat trick of try’s which Regan Hubbard ably converts.

At 57 minutes and as the game is drawing to a close Scott Hughes takes a high line out on the 50 metre line and runs being chased all the way to score under the posts which Jake Brough again converted.

Final Score Mansfield 52-0 Keyworth.

Worthy mention to Dan Wilkinson who played the whole game for the opposition who were short of players on the day. He played the whole game at full tilt making no allowances for his usual colleagues.

Man of the match was given to Blair Holland on behalf of the whole team.
