Sunny Sheffield

Having a small squad due to injury and illness we embarked on another trip into Yorkshire this time to play a strong team from Sheffield Rufc, the sun was shinning and we turned up ready for a tough test which is what was waiting for us.
We started off really well forwards carrying well from pods then the backs putting moves together which resulted in us scoring the 1st try from a scrum on half way the forwards set a good platform for the backs to put a miss pass move together putting Lucas into space to run in under the post, standing on the side line it looked awesome, then Sheffield knew they had a game on their hands they started to put some phases together with their inside centre intercepting a pass and scoring levelling the score Mansfield started to get going with Ethan at full back organising the backs and starting to get some ball in his hands he looked a threat as well as William stepping up at inside centre putting a run together having 3 defenders hanging off him as he made his way into the 22, big josh started to get plenty of ball and we looked a real threat putting some more scores on the board that was the 1st 15 minutes done .
2nd 15 started and with some players not feeling very well we had to change players into positions that they had never played before but they gave it everything Taylor filling in at no8 had a cracking game, AJ turning from winger to prop playing with the heart of a lion, Jackson having to go at full back tried his best but he was missing getting involved in the action, little josh moving onto the wing and putting in a shift shutting the door on any attacks that came his way, Toby going back to help in the 2nd row were his aggression and skill shone throughout the game. Sheffield put some scores on the board which could have been a lot more but for the tough defensive line we held with Oskar, Toby and Taylor tackling everything they could throw at us was impressive, with Sheffield in our 22 the forwards put their play together and pushed the team up the pitch into Sheffield's 22 only for the ref to end the quarter.
Last 15 we turned the aggression on and hard carrying which seen Mansfield flex their muscles and start bossing the game with Myles Leading from the front putting pressure on Sheffield and hitting tackles the Lads looked in the zone putting points together just a little late in the game.
Each and everyone of you guys should be proud of how far you have come as a team, onto next week with a home game we can have an extra 10 minutes in bed!!!

MOM Myles who led the team like a leader with his tackles, aggression and stopping on the pitch when the team needed him even though he was not feeling 100%
DOD Mal for not taking his man up tablets.
