William the conqueror

After a break in the weather we had a chance to host our neighbours Newark at Eakring road with a chance for us to see how we are developing as a team.
With both teams ready the whistle sounded to get the game under way with us receiving the ball from the kick off we started to put last Sundays tough game behind us, first Lucas went on a strong run brushing defenders aside to start the score board ticking. Quickly followed by another try, after 5 minutes we had Lucas rounding his Hattrick off. Kyros put his foot down to cross the line leaving Newark wondering what had just happened after the first 15 mins, at 20 points down they tried to make tackles but we seem to have players waiting for a turn to have a run. We seemed to lose our system of play reverting back to u9s running on our own trying to score which led to Oskar powering over for his first try. Then Jackson getting a try which was more than deserved after the work rate he as shown over the last two weeks. Last week Jackson took 1 for the team filling in at hooker then no 8 and winger, today back in his preferred position scrumhalf he was enjoying himself A BIG WELL DONE JACKSON, Oskar got his 2nd try to finish the half.

Second half it was pretty much the same with Freddie making his Debut, he got some ball and broke through some tackles making it a great first game for him. Then step up William who sprung into life and left a brave Newark team in his wake scoring 4 tries using speed, skill and strength handing defenders off, as well as making some good tackles, the highlight of his tries was a strong run through the middle of the defence and out paced the defenders from his own half. Lucas added 2 more tries along with Ethan who smashed his way through the defence to get on the score sheet, Newark managed to get a try before the full time whistle.
MOM today we had 2 man of the match awards

Jackson who worked his socks off at scrumhalf as well as getting into rucks and jackaling the ball back WELL DONE.
William who made some good tackles and strong runs and really caused Newark a real Headache throughout the second half with 4 tries.
WELL DONE.
