Super Sunday

If there was a time for anyone who had not seen junior rugby before, today was the day to show case what its all about. 2 teams giving there all to get the bragging rights at school, putting everything they had on show tackling like lions and running into strong defensive walls, it just showed the strength of u13 rugby in Nottinghamshire is very very strong.
After the lads showed their respect to our fallen heroes it was time to put on a show and the game got underway with Paviours starting the better with some strong running and we were a little slow with our line speed which put us under pressure calling for some last ditch tackling from our backs. With our backs against the wall Lucas stepped up to carve his way through their defence to get us on the score board 1st , then Pavs kicked into gear with 2 try's in quick succession to put the pressure back on us then we started to get into the game with quick hands the ball got to happy feet who started to find space out on the wing and got hold of the ball in his own half to run in a nice try putting us level with pavs. Getting a try just before the half time whistle to bring the score to 10-15 to pavs.
After a chat at half time we regrouped and started the 2nd half at lightening pace with a shout out to Oskar and Toby and the forwards starting to boss the break downs hitting rucks hard we started to play our rugby, Billy getting quick ball which he moved around with ease Pavs were on the ropes and we started to put the pressure on them which led to us feeding both Kyros and Lucas to score 1 each again putting us on the front foot. William got some ball 1st running from his own half he out paced the chasing defence to get over for his 1st try then followed Oskar who picked up from a ruck and put his foot to the floor from our 22m to pavs 22m and unselfishly put William over for his 2nd try with pavs under the cosh, the forwards had a power play from ruck after ruck leading to Taylor going on a strong run to score under the posts for a well worked try, Pavs then started to come back with some runs only to meet our brick wall in the shape of Ethan who put his body on the line over and over again like he had done all game as well as having some strong runs he had a fantastic game showing how good a full back we have WELL DONE, we then slowed off a little thinking the game was done and pavs managed to score 2 of their own bringing the score to 35-25 to Mansfield.
we could have given any of the boys MOM for the grit and determination they all showed today, Billy had a big game moving the ball well he seemed to control the game for us, Reece again showing his power with strong runs, Myles who was not feeling very well but showed his courage and determination in his words I DONT WANT TO LET THE TEAM DOWN , Oskar who really shows he is Mr Dependable with strong rucking and powerful runs, as coaches we had a very tough discission which was made a little easier when Pavs coaches came over and said their MOM
MoM Lucas who caused havoc every time he had the ball with strong runs and big tackles WELL DONE
DoD could have gone to 2 players today 1st one was AJ who started the game with his contact top on and the 2nd player was Reece who came out of the changing room at the end with his shirt and tie on and still wearing his playing shorts both going AWOL it fell to Toby to step up again and take one for the team ( AJ and Reece you owe him)
