YES WE CAN

So after having our chance to play on the 1st team pitch we had to put on a show and the lads did not disappoint,
after so much rain we didn't think there would be any rugby this weekend but the sun came out and the pitches held up well meaning we had the chance to put a game on, as the lads started to warm up we had Toby knock his shoulder up which put us under pressure and then Josh H forgetting his shirt which put him in the running for donut of the day along with Toby the boys were ready to play against an ilkeston side who had lost some key players before the game,
Mansfield started off at a lightening pace moving the ball around well with both forwards and backs getting on the ball and doing some strong carries Mal went on a strong run with defenders hanging off him which got us into a good attacking position with William finishing it off with a try quickly followed by William again finding space out wide and finishing off a well worked try not to be out done ,ilkeston came back with some runs of their own but Mansfield went into defensive mode with some amazing tackles, Standing out was AJ on the wing putting in a try saving tackle to push the ilkeston winger into touch with ilkeston finding it tough to break through a strong Mansfield defence they kicked over the defence to find Ethan sat waiting to pluck the ball out the air and go on a fantastic run and score, Lucas then stepped up wanting to get in on the act with a big carry through the defence to score which was followed by our own Happy feet {Kyros} to find holes in the defence and score 2 of his own we then started to forget our system and players began to get white line fever making some discissions themselves which started to make their game some what harder, which also lead to Lucas getting another 2 tries before half time.
The second half started and Mansfield went up another gear, Mason started to grow in the game receiving the ball from outside the 22m line and brushing aside player after player closing in on the try line with 3 defenders hanging off him ,he powered over for a good try followed by Jackson who picked up from a ruck, going down the blindside to score a nice try, William is the most honest rugby player i have ever met after going on another run dancing through the opposition and going over the try line the ref awarded the try to make it his hattrick but he said he had dropped the ball before grounding it{ TOP MARKS NOT MANY WOULD HAVE DONE THAT}
Then followed Big Jack to go on a fantastic run brushing players off finally getting tackled by at least 3 defenders for happy feet to then grab his hattrick, Lucas to grab his 4th try of the morning, step up Joint captain Myles to smash his way through leaving defender after defender on the floor to score a top try with our other joint captain Alfie looking on itching to get on but injury keeping him out shouting instructions from the side line his troops didn't let him down {soon be back skipper} Big josh also got in on the act to round off a good display with a try of his own,
special mention for Kayden who as had a little time away returned and did a brilliant job.

MOM Jack for his big carries and tackling WELL DONE
DOD Toby for getting injured before the whistle
