Under 12's had the great privilege of playing under floodlights on the First Team pitch at Mansfield against local rivals Southwell on Friday night (9th of November). Because of the many Remembrance events occurring on Sunday we decided our best opportunity to get as many players as possible was to host Southwell on Friday evening . A large number of Southwell and Mansfield parents as well as many other fans turned up to watch a thrilling game played in great spirit under the lights (in the rain!).Both sides showed great attacking and defensive flair. The pace of play and its quality was only outweighed by the superb sportsmanship showed by both teams. Southwell, as always, gave a great display of rapid passing and quick ruck technique whilst Mansfield's players really offloaded well and keep the ball alive at every opportunity. Both sides had many attacking opportunities but both sides also displayed superb defensive capability. Players of the match for each side were nominated by opposing coaches and Southwell player Angus and Mansfield's player Harrison both received a small trophy and a lot of applause in the bar after the game.
