U9s RAF Cranwell

14 Under 9’s, 2 Coaches and 3 assistants arrived at RAF Cranwell, Friday evening for a “meet and greet” with the rest of the 10 teams invited. Goody bags included a tour jacket, tee-shirt and water-bottles.
Personal escort showed us to our rooms, breakfast and events to follow.
Saturday Programme.
Events included Rugby skills, 5-a-side football, team building exercises, mini Olympics and swimming. Wall climbing and go-carting were cancelled due to the bad weather.
After tea, ten pin bowling, Wii-olympics and the quiz.
Sunday:  Breakfast, transport to Pavilion.
Main Event was re-arranged after consultation to play one game only due to driving rain and near storm force winds.
MRUFC versus Oakham:  
We gave a good account of ourselves with some good straight running, hard tackles and solid defence but eventually lost 5 – 0.
Once dried off, free bar, packed lunch, presentation of prizes and medals by Rory Underwood, (plus photos, handshakes and autographs!)
I was really proud of all boys who conducted themselves as expected. An absolutely fantastic weekend that no-one will ever forget, despite the downpour!!
Man of the Match and Tour was Jack Coleman.
Before we left, we were pre-selected to return as under 10’s next season.
