Peterborough 0 - 30 Mansfield U15 Girls

Sunday 12th February saw Mansfield RUFC U15 Girls travel down to Peterborough RUFC to play the final round in the Area 4 RFU U15 Girls Cup in near Baltic sub zero conditions.
With it being half term and missing regular numerous players, Mansfield had to call upon several new and up and coming players for this fixture and much to the coaching staffs delight they didn't disappoint.
With a strong biting wind and what felt like sub zero conditions the players played an extremely impressive game of controlled and measured rugby in which they constantly smothered the strong Peterborough pack with a flurry of tackles, created numerous turnovers and then ground their way into the opponents twenty two. The game demonstrated the great strength in depth from the new players that the coaching team have created this season and all the players came away from the game extremely cold but entirely satisfied with their efforts.
Peterborough were again a credit to themselves and showed a huge improvement to their game since Mansfield last encountered them back in Sept...and as such credit should go to their players for the excellent rugby they played.
The victory now means Mansfield U15 Girls progress to the Area 4 Plate final which will take place over two legs in march and April.
