Rugby is one of the most physical sports around today, that goes without saying. The current form of the sport can be brutal. Often the players are never fully injury free. Brakes, fractures, sprains and torn muscles are all considered part of the game. This is okay if you are a professional with all the right people around you, whilst enjoying the benefits of getting paid to play. But what about the majority playing for the sheer love of the game every weekend? The people that have to get up for work on a Monday morning and apply their trade elsewhere to earn a living. For many injuries, simply are not an option.
Personal playing insurance is a matter for the individual, as all players know, things such as 'loss of earnings' cover is not part of our RFU insurance product. Although the club cannot endorse an individual product, we have been asked for advice on what is out there. So without prejudice, and to bring some awareness to the subject for you, we have selected a product endorsed by Rugby Pro Gareth Thomas that you may feel is worth investigating.

If you are self-employed or have a limited amount of time you are allowed off from work due to a rugby injury then you will certainly have peace of mind from some kind of sports or specific rugby insurance cover.
