A huge congratulations to Katie Buchanan, currently playing her rugby with Exeter Chiefs, who has been selected on the bench again for Scotland Women as they prepare to face the mighty Black Ferns this Saturday! ?

Following her historic senior international debut against Canada, Katie is once again in the matchday squad as Scotland take on New Zealand on the global stage.

Huge congratulations to Katie Buchanan, who came off the bench to win her first Scotland Women cap against Canada on 12th September 2026, in the brand-new WXV Global Series.

Now playing her rugby with Exeter Chiefs, Katie has made history as the first full senior international to come through Mansfield Rugby Club.

Winger Katie started her rugby journey at Mansfield before making her Chiefs debut in September 2022. At Chiefs she has been named Women’s young player of the year and supporters’ player of the year.

She played for England U20s against Scotland in March 2023. As she progressed further, she was then named in the Senior Red Roses squad before injury struck. Her family history also makes her eligible for Scotland selection, and they wasted no time in securing her to play under the saltire flag!

We are proud to announce that former Mansfield player and Exeter Chiefs star Katie Buchanan has been selected in the Scotland Women's Squad for 2026.

The squad faces Canada, New Zealand and Australia in September at the Hive Stadium Edinburgh.

An extremely speedy Winger Katie played all her junior rugby at Mansfield Rugby Club before making her Chiefs debut in 2022 and England U20s debut in 2023.

She was later named in the senior England Red Roses squad before injury cruelly ruled her out.
