Can you help support Dani and Kim in fundraising for Alzheimer’s Research UK?
At Mansfield Rugby Club Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease have had a significant impact on our members over the years. Sadly, we have seen how these conditions affect not only those diagnosed, but also their families and friends within our rugby club and the wider community. The challenges faced by our members in the past serve as a reminder of the importance of support and understanding.
Today, the reality of these illnesses is ever-present as one of our former players Dave (Trussy) Truswell has recently been diagnosed with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. This has brought the issue close to home yet again, reinforcing the need for awareness and action. Many of you will remember Dave as a no nonsense Back Row Forward with the speed of a Centre. After rugby he became a successful competition winning body builder. Watching his decline has been hard for his family and friends.
In light of this, Dave’s two daughters Dani and Kim are embarking on a trek to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, aiming to raise crucial funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Any donations you can make, no matter how small, would be gratefully received and will go towards supporting vital research and those affected by these conditions.
