Chairman Andy Foster said, "Chris was a very talented prop forward in his playing days, known for his considerable strength. I played alongside Chris and he was in the team I later coached, so I know first hand what he was capable of. Together with Kev Whale and Barry Davies they formed a formidable front row for Mansfield and helped win the day on more than one occasion. He was without a doubt one of the best tighthead prop forwards we have produced and will be remembered for his robust approach to the game by those who played alongside him".
