70 FOR 70 – WHAT A CHALLENGE!

Mansfield Rugby Club Admin

UPDATE: We’ve already seen some fantastic efforts from people determined to help secure the future of our club.

As we celebrate 70 years of Mansfield Rugby Club, our 70 for 70 fundraising campaign is well underway, and we’ve already seen some fantastic efforts from people determined to help secure the future of our club.

From pushing physical limits to taking on some truly unique challenges, our members and supporters have been showing the true spirit of our club with commitment, spirit and a willingness to go the extra mile! Highlights so far include.

Senior Squad Car Wash – A Fun Way to Raise Funds
Kicking things off by dusting off the tour Budgie Smugglers and stripping off – the dirt!

Women’s Squad Walk – The Clumber Park Challenge
Determination and blisters! The hike back to the club in serious heat was no picnic.

Nathan Hill – The Ultimate Press Up Challenge
Only 21,000 press ups in 30 days, 700 a day! A serious test of determination and stamina.

Andy Foster – The Pedalling Pensioner
700 miles on the spinning bike in 31 days! Grit and a show of defiance against aging to help our club.

Joe Parks – The Long-Distance Walker
A remarkable 125-mile walk over 12 days from Mansfield to family roots in County Durham ending at Seaton Carew RFC.

Tat McFarlane – 70 Ends in 24 Hours
Taking on the challenge of playing 70 ends of Flat Green Bowls in just 24 hours. Testing every sinew!

The Log Carry Challenge
Seniors and Juniors getting involved testing their stamina and raising awareness of the campaign through the town centre.

Juniors Skills Challenge
Taking on the senior players in challenges that prove talent knows no age barrier.

Minis Sponsored Run
Our youngest players have been running their socks off! Proving that you’re never too young to play your part in supporting the club we all love.

Club Jewellery Stall – AKA Andrea’s Passion!
An amazing effort to source and sell popular and funky jewellery and trinkets at every club event, closing in on her target of £1,000!

Juniors Can Collecting – Really Crushing it
Beg, steal or borrow empty cans for crushing. Every single one makes a difference!

Buy a Brick
Our campaign is also giving members, former players, families, local businesses and friends of the club the opportunity to leave their mark on Mansfield Rugby Club for generations to come.

The Family Fun Day: Race Night: Line Dancing/Western Extravaganza: 70th Anniversary Merch Sales: Club Lotto and coming up the 70th Anniversary Ball and Big Finale 70s Night in 2027 are all raising funds for the 70 for 70 campaign.

Every challenge, every donation and every bit of support brings us closer to our ambitious target of £70,000 to help fund improvements and repairs to our clubhouse and grounds.

This is not just about raising money. It’s about celebrating 70 years of history, recognising the people who make our club special and investing in the next 70 years.

A huge thank you to everyone who has taken part, donated, sponsored or helped make these challenges happen.

The challenges continue, and there’s plenty more to come!
