Mansfield win Inaugral Floodlit game

Spectators were treated to a fantastic game of flowing rugby and some excellent tries from both teams in a fitting game that lived up to the billing as the Ted Lane memorial match where Mansfield Rugby Club 1st XV played Southwell RFC 1st XV representing our Honorary President Elect Alan Shaw. The Ted Lane Memorial Trophy will now be played for in an annual fixture between Mansfield RFC and Southwell RFC.
For the last two years we have been working on a project to floodlight our two main playing pitches at Mansfield Rugby Club – This project is now completed and we were delighted to be able to hold our inaugural game under floodlights at Eakring Road on Thursday 3rd April 2008 KO was 7.30pm.
